Should voters be given a NOTA (None Of The Above) choice?

In my perspective, voters should be given a NOTA (None Of The Above) choice because the Indian Constitution gives every citizen of this country, the Right to Vote and it is no where mentioned that whoever visits the polling booth must cast his / her vote only to elect a candidate representing xyz political party and not the NOTA. What matters is that instead of sitting at home, he/she should exercise his/her Right to Vote.

In my opinion,

NOTA should not be there in EVM. Because if we allow nota people will press nota for silly reasons. Instead of NOTA Election Commission should ensure the candidate background if he has no criminal record then only he should allow in the election. Then people don't have to press NOTA if all candidate is capable of serving in politics. The second reason is it gives more chance to form a new political party like we know in India right now we have more than 100+ regional party and 7national level party even then many people are not satisfied with them or their work. So they use nota or make their own party. Let see the recent eg where 50 IIT Graduates left their job and made their own party and also superstar like Rajnikant and Kamal Hasan comes up with their own regional party. In this way, there are so many parties are getting form. Here I think Election commission should not give a ticket to who have a criminal record or any past record which show his lack of capability. Once all candidate will be upto mak or choice of people of that area they will definitely vote him or her. Thank You.

Thanks for giving a chance to me friends. In my point of view, the NOTA giving option to the elections is best choice for the people.

By choosing the option of NOTA the people wanting the democracy ruling.

For example: if two candidates are in elections so the people are not interested in both of them so they can select the option of NOTA.

Some people are fed up with the caste based ruling system parties in A.P. So they want to select the best option NOTA.

But the leaders makes that the votes of NOTA considering as invalid votes.

Our political are making corruption now-a-days by electing them as leaders. So the best choice for the people is NOTA.

So I conclude that voting to NOTA is the best option for the people so government take necessary steps.

To take the votes as valid votes of them.

According to me, Obviously Should give the NOTA option for the Peoples for election Process. Because of knowing the peoples common thinking about the election and political changing system. This is Useful for peoples thinking about the political changes. This is helpful for changing the political leaders changing process for the election committee. So, the Election committee to know the people thinking about the political system. So this is helpful. So, Election Committee should give the NOTA option for the election.

My opinion is that the NOTA choice should be given to the voters. The reason being currently their are lot of people who does not take election process seriously and do not possess the voter card. We being a democratic country should take this as our responsibility to vote for the right one for the welfare of country. So participation is should be increased not decreased. People are still confused with the facts of election and government and hence if they will get this opportunity of NOTA they will waste up the vote. Nd every vote counts. So, I believe this is not the time to provide NOTA for the voters. Its their responsibility to think discuss and vote for the right one.

In this context, Two questions arise in my mind.

IF NOTA is made effective, who shall take up the post of running the government?

Wouldn't there be another election to decide the same?

Or, Will the state appoint experienced and qualified intellects with good ethical values to run the government.

NOTA is UN necessary as the outcome is Vague and will create more chaos in the system.

Election as it is a method of selecting the best from a group of nominated candidates.

Another hypothesis is that NOTA can act acts as a placebo, where the probability of winning goes to the best.

Deserved candidate/nominee. In this context, I feel NOTA has a statistical significance.

According to me, the NOTA option should not be given to the people. As this option will make easy to such kind of people who are not serious regarding electing a government.

NOTA option will provoke people to not to do brainwork while choosing any party, as it happens that people are confused in selecting any one of the parties.

If this option would not be there then it may happen that such kind of people will start thinking regarding at least about their 'first preference' among the parties.

Removal of NOTA option will lead to an increase in the total number of votes, no time waste and appropriate way to select government as per my view.

Nota is not the best option for the people to show their own aggression. Today we all are living in a democratic country. If we put their importance in nota it's only a waste of time. We must have to choose a candidate which do for the welfare of our country. We have to think over that if we have the power to choose him then don't forget we can reject him also.

1. For increasing the vote percent it is very beneficial because many voters think none of the candidate are suitable for the post, so the can press nota.

2. Analysis of the bad or good candidate in a particular region is easily done by calculating nota percentage.

3. Aggression of public on the government is also show by democratic way by giving nota option.

4. Your vote power is not in other hands, if you are note give the votes, there are many cases on the basis of your name vote is given to a particular Candidate.

Some unfavorable facts are.

1. Nota votes are like a waste in dustbin, no matter how much percent nota votes are ?

After subtracting nota votes which candidate is in majority wins easily. Means nota have no power so why government make fool by given nota. (except Maharashtra).

2. If there are no provisions after calculating nota percentage it is not benificial.
