Well, I think banning cigarettes will definitely help a lot of people quit smoking. Because when a thing is not available easily, people try to do away with it. Besides government should also ensure no one indulge in its hoarding, black marketing. If anyone is found doing so, he must be penalized heavily as a deterrent to others. This is the only solution, because enough awareness drives have yielded no positive results. Rather consumption has increased. Shockingly, a large percentage of smokers are educated people. A lot of people think smoking a status symbol.

So to conclude, cigarettes or any tobacco products should be banned and the ban should be implemented strictly and honestly. Thanks.

Alcohol causes cancer.

Red meats causes cancer.

Car emissions causes cancer.

Obesity causes cancer.

Some medications causes cancer.

Let's ban even these things?

Oh, and banning things really solves the problem, look at the prohibition in the 20's and the drug wars.

Hi friends,

We all know that cigarette smoking is injurious to health and also if you see the cover of the packet here also written the same thing with the picture also that what will be the effect of cigarette smoking. And cigarette should be banned because it creates lots of problem to the general people who wants some fresh air. But most of the people says they are smoking cigarette for a fashion or to reduce work stress. But cigarette is not the solution of these problems.

If you see, people are smoking cigarettes in public places where it creates problems for other normal people. Govt is earning more money on these type of products and also takes more taxes but govt should think about the problems which are occurring due to these type of products. Govt should think an alternative ways to earn money except these alcohols, gutkhas and cigarettes.

In my point of view along with cigarette alcohols should be banned. And the govt has to take the necessary action upon this matter and also take action against those people who will sell it.

Thank you.

As we all know smoking and other narcotic things have a hazardous effect in every part of the world. In my opinion;a person with these habits is considered poor more than a beggar. Despite the harmful effects caused by these; government is not even feeling responsible towards these situations. Some difficulties may be arised in doing so but as no great success can be achieved without an initial step;they should try to stop the use of narcotics in a better way.

Hello friends, in my point of view there is nothing beneficial in smoking or drinking. Its totally decreases ours life and also others who is staying behind us. If you make trouble to others via smoking it means you are the guilty of there problems. So it's my personal request to smokers stop smoking and secure your family friends and society.

I strongly believe that smoking should be completely banned in India. Because it is not only affecting the society but also injurious to the health. The passive smoker get much more affected than active smokers.

That is the reason relatives of the smokers get lung cancer and others types of cancer. Banning smoking can reduce the death rate. But there are always pro and cons of the changes.

Hello friends, my name is Rampal.

As you all have shared your generous thoughts about the topic, I also want to share my viewpoint.

Yes, smoking should be completely banned in country. I can justify my opinion by following points:

1) Smoking is injurious to health of a person not only who smokes but also of the nearby people. In a recent survey, it was found that tobacco caused the deaths of about 8 lakh people per annually.

2) If government seeks for the revenue (through enormous taxes on these products) and the employment by the tobacco factories.

Then it should be known that, the cost on treatment of tobacco disease and lack of productivity (in terms of spoiled youth) is much more than the revenues and employment.

3) If a person dies in a family, then he left his family helpless. His family has to suffer a lot. By putting ban over smoking, families can be prevented from getting spoiled.

4) Moreover, it causes the degradation of our environment, by its consumption and even by manufacturing.

CONCLUSION:

Besides putting complete ban over smoking, preventive measures should be taken for the addicted people to help them overcome their addiction. ''nasha mukti kendra'' should be opened in every district.

Along with, awareness should be spread through newspapers, dramas in schools etc about the evil consequences of the smoking.

Thank you.

Hi friends,

According to my opinion smoking shouldn't be banned completely. It's a personal choice. For some 'smoking' is injurious to health and for some 'smoking' is a way to probably relieve stress or not an 'EVIL'. Maybe a person smokes, but works out triple and stays healthy.

Hi all,

In my point of view smoking should be banned because it can cause cancer and other various disease. It can also be disturbance to non smoker when smokers smoke near to them. This has also affected to young youth where they use cigarette to smoke as fashion nowadays.

This are influenced from television, films etc where they promote the use of tobacco, cigarette etc. This could banned if the government take action to shut down all the factories that produce harmful product such as cigarette, tobacco etc.
