I'd like to put forward my point of view, here which is if we try to look at the issue in a horizontal manner there are some major drawbacks as well as advantages on implementing such a policy.
Advantages being that it's going to put a hold on the rapidly rising population which is something to be gravely looked into. Since adopting a one child policy is definitely going to provide with more amount of resources to be utilized by the people. Furthermore, a lesser amount of wastage, lesser consumption.
Whereas, if we trying focusing on the drawbacks it does make it very lonely for a single child to be in a family. Makes it worse, if both the parents are working. To have a sibling is something all of us prefer. Moreover, when the parents grow older, the responsibility to look after them can be divided among their children. Given the kind of work pressure and busy life, most people have in today's time. Which does make life easier for all of them? That's it from my side. Thank you.

In my opinion, rather than a one child policy what we need at the moment is awareness about family planning. Since, instead of applying this policy on the entire population we need to instill this knowledge into people's minds that their decisions of family planning should primarily depend on their income, their livelihood and any other factor that exists in their lives which is going to affect the upbringing of a child. I raise this statement since in India there are numerous such families which do not have a decent yearly income to support their well-being and a healthy upbringing even for a single child and yet they end up having more than two children. So this entire process should happen gradually and hopefully with time people will understand the gravity of the situation.

Good evening everyone,
In my opinion, One-child policy in India is good because present India suffers with higher population to overcome this problem we may for this one-child policy and we can control Indian population and everyone should know about this policy and the next thing if they want children more than one then adopt the children so after that you have 2 children as you want.

Yes. I totally agree with the thing that India should have a one-child policy. The higher population is the root cause of many issues. Unemployment, stress and the list goes on.
People are forgetting humanity as everyone is in a hurry. Talking about it we can consider a hurry for catching a bus or train. Even local transports are not sufficient for so many people and then they have to hand in train doors and then they have to lose their lives.
The next thing is we almost always say about others that no one here is disciplined. But following discipline is really hard again because of overcrowded-ness everywhere which is happening because of the huge population.
So I think India should have this policy but while applying this policy it should also generate awareness about this thing.

There are many aspects of this topic! India needs a single child policy. India is suffering from a lot of severe crises and a loss in agriculture. Economical. Educational. Health sectors and so on. There are many reasons for it and population growth is the main one.
The lesser population will tend to the proper utilization of resources and will balance the growth and consumption of the country but on the other side, the one-child policy is quite negotiable because of various factors. Gender equality is something that would be highly affected. In India, a boy child is always given a priority and if we will adopt a one-child policy it would definitely lead to abortions and gender imbalances. This thought would also need to be taken into consideration.

In my opinion India should not follow one child policy for now. Instead of that it has to make a strictly restriction that not to have more than two children.
We already know that so many people are not following this rule. So the result is over population in our country. According to my point of view compared to one child policy restriction of 2 children not more than that is better policy.

In my opinion, if India adopts 01 child policy somewhere we are creating a new problem unknowingly reason behind till now we Indian believe in son or daughter if it will be forceful then most of the people go for abortion so it effects on gender equality so government should make a strict law for adopting 2 children.

Every person in this world is born with an inherited potential with the essence of uniqueness. India's greatest strength is its vast human resource belonging to wide diversities. Dr. A PJ Abdul Kalam was the youngest of his four brothers and sister. Gandhi Ji was the youngest of the four children in his family. If India had a one-child policy back then, we would have lost some of our great legends.
Population explosion is a serious concern across the globe. But We need to overcome that by proper resource planning and measures aiming at sustainable development.

Hello guys in my view no such dictator restriction is needed in a democracy like India.
To control the population,
Correct education is enough.
In past times the increase in population just due to the lack of education and due to lack of awareness about pregnancy control measures.
But today is a new generation of awareness and knowledge so no such orthodox policy is needed.
Also needless to say everyone knows that due to the one-child policy, China is facing nowadays an issue of having a large old population that can happen in India too.
