Should India have a One Child Policy?

My name is Sagar Gupta, Let's start discussing today's topic "Implementation of One Child Policy in India".

I think this question arises because of the overpopulation problem that India is facing right now which is hindering the employment level, health issues, population and whatnot.

But Implementation of this policy is myopic it might help with the problems that I said earlier but in the long run we might create issues like what's happening in China, where more than 50 percent of their population is old which might lead to lower workforce participation and decrease the growth rate of any country.

So, we should go slow and rather than having drastic policies like this we take step by step like first strengthening our ongoing campaigns like "Bache do hi ache".

Hello everyone, so the topic of our GD is 'Should India have a child policy'.

As we all know we are the country of the largest population in the world because of that we can see there are several issues are arising in today's time like unemployment, health issues and family planning.

But I think in my opinion the one-child policy is not something which helps or there may be a possibility that this policy may create some adverse effects like a reduction in the number of young people and the ones who can do a job efficiently and positively.

I think we need to improve our technology and innovation to combat the issues related to unemployment and health issues like the other countries japan and China they also have one of the largest populations in the world but because of their innovation and technological developments, they are not facing this kind of issues.

I do agree with so many participants who support that India shouldn't adopt one child policy because that might slow down the number of youth population over a certain period and ultimately might lead to the result which china is already facing!

However, I would like to add another perspective to this! for example with rising inflation, and everything becoming expensive for so many parents to raise their child in a balanced env, for them one child or even no child policy might work best! (At least a child won't have to suffer for basic needs)

So the point I want to state is that the one child policy is good for those who could afford the living cost expenses to raise a child. So instead of arguing over whether one child is good or not, we should focus and find out solutions to generate more employmment and econ growth because this is proportional!

Yes, this should become compulsory for our country because there is 150 cr population in India in 2025, and around 50% of the population is less than 35 years old. Then we do not need much younger than this to make our country manufacturning hub.

If we continue to do "TWO CHLID POLICY" it will better because in India most people wants two child one daughter and one son but there is also big chunk of population who thinks that childern is so called "GOD BLESSING". So, they end up being parents of 4 or 5 childern and due to this they will be never able to feed their childern proprely and educate them.

Hello everyone, as our topic of discussion is "Should India have a one child policy".
According to my point of view, every coin has two sides; similarly, this statement also has two sides. First, that's true if this policy is imposed, then our population will be in control, and our country will run in a more efficient manner. Those parents who cannot afford to many expenses of their children will face fewer problems in their parenting. Somewhere, our country will look more managed.

But on the other side, I also do have this perspective that imposing a one-child policy will hinder those creative minds which could have done very well if they could come and live their life.

So in the end, I would like to say that instead of focusing on these policies, we should focus on how to exponentially increase our incomes, control expenses and how to be an asset for our country instead of being a liability.
