Yes, MBA is highly overrated in India.
The reason is money minded students.
We can take the example of IIT students. After completing their graduation from a prestigious institute of our country, instead of making a contribution to the country through there technical skills and knowledge, they opt to go for MBA to earn more money.
Another reason might be the increase in no of graduate students every year. There is less job opportunity and they decide to go for MBA to seek a good job.

"MBA in India"?
The Truth behind it, is - Student enter in music school because they love music, student enter in Art school because they love arts, but no-buddy enter in B-School because they love Business, They entered because of the great middle class Indian Dream- to achieve Fame. The population density in India is very high, and number of MBA aspirants are big in number, So the Competition for MBA in INDIA is highly over-rated, and i am totally satisfied with the topic.

My contention is that MBA is not highly over-rated, its just that if you do your MBA from a good institute like top 20s, it surely has a lot of value, and if you do that no matter what, nobody can stop you from getting a good job. Because I have seen people suffer, who haven't done their MBA from a very good institute, as they are not able to maintain consistency in their jobs. You will find 1000s of institutes in the country but there are only a handful who have value.

Hello Friends,
MBA is no doubt highly overrated in the whole globe due to its value, everybody know that the scope of MBA is increasing by leaps and bounds. If we focus for a while on the newspapers, every company and every bank or every other organization prefer MBA because MBA holders can solve every type of complex problems at the time, they are good decision makers and they can work under pressure. MBA Degree is more preferred over Engineering Degree now-a-days.

I think getting an MBA surely boosts one's career. It depends on a lot of factors like your interests, preferences and the demand in the industry. What usually people look at while doing an MBA is just the attractive package. Your aim should be to learn Management techniques. Though a heavy package does hold importance, but you must ensure that you do your legwork after you are done with your MBA and even look out for Jobs during the course.

Yes, In India MBA is highly over-rated. In other part of the world, number of student applying for MBA is decreasing but in case of India it is decreasing. It's become a trend to do the MBA after graduation. One more reason of more applicant of MBA is the non availability of the job for graduate people. People have a believe that they will get the job after MBA. MBA is a good course but it not the only course to succeed in life.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Yes I am completely agree with that statement that MBA is highly overrated in India and it has a reason too. As we see in India the unemployment is increasing rapidly and people think that by doing MBA they got the job easily. As we see that MBA's are not only from commerce stream but also from science and arts too.
So they are just following the crowd without even knowing the mean of MBA.
So yes MBA is highly overrated inn India.

I totally agree with the topic........... Now a days, everyone prefers to live a comfortable life. Money is a prime need for everyone in this modern and developing world. And MBA is a field where you can make money easily..Here, the packages which are offered are really high and also jobs are gaurenteed.........Thats why, most of our young generation is prefering to join MBA.Therefore, acording to me, in India, MBA is over- rated..

I feel MBA gained popularity because of the growth of MNC's and separation of ownership and management. Doing MBA or not is purely a personal decision and it should be left for him or her to decide whether MBA will be suitable or not. Increasing complexity of business makes the need of management graduates imperative who are equipped professionally in strategic thinking.
So, according to me, MBA is not at all over rated.

I totally agree with the topic because student not only want to earn money from any where and at any position. They want to work in a MNC and shows thier talent. You can go in MNC from anyother stream also but through MBA you will get many oppurtunities to show your skills like underpressure work, making correct decision which are not teach by anyone. It is come from experience and inner quality.
