I think the attendance should be 60% mandatory in 3rd and 4th year.
In college first and the second year is the base for the student so the attendance would be 100%. After that student needs to work on this skill. So its required spam time. In day by day, the competition is tough. The Student also needs work on the skill. In college theory and practical performance is always needed. 60% in a 3rd and 4th year is good enough.

According to my point of view, Yes, it is definitely needed. Because it is in the lectures. Where we learn from the Professors. And then according to our own interest, we refer books for that and search on the internet.
If there is no compulsory attendance. The student will not get to know about teh main base of the various things happening around us. And they we will like. Lost in the big sea of opportunities.

In my view, attendance is not needed at all. That to be compulsory. No way. As we students like to attend the class which we believe to be informative or useful. That means teacher taught well. At this point, everyone s interested in attending the class. Whereas at the other side, we don't want to sit for the class which we fly to be bored. So it depends on teachers to maintain the attendance in the class as if the class will be interesting everyone will sit for it. The whole concludes. No compulsion should be there for attendance.

When it comes to college, it is filled with students who are pre-adult viz. 18 to 25 years old so basically they recently had a load or thought of responsibility and more importantly its life, the adult independent life which gets sucked by attendance.
It's time to make a right decision and a college student can make their own so attendance just seems like a forceful law that sucks our independent.
And it's not the attendance that matter it's the students head and skills which they can develop through any means, so literally we are here for that fucking degree we always dreamt of and we have paid authority more than enough for that piece of paper so just leave us on our own.

I agree with the points of @Anjali.
What she said that exactly true, because most of the students need practical knowledge along with their studies, I think we can't get fulfil of practical knowledge in college environment we should go out from the college and should do a project like internships. 60% of attendance is enough.

In my opinion, 100% attendance should not be compulsory in college. College time is the time when a student learn practical knowledge with academic knowledge. 100% attendance compulsory means the student gets only theoretical knowledge like in school. The students will not get any opportunity to do any extra curricular activity. In most the college they do not have smart class. There is no difference between school and college in teaching learning process. It becomes very difficult to gain a practical concept by only attending lecture. So there should be some extra time to attend internship for students. Hence 60% attendance can be mandatory.

According to my concern, attendance is a way of making students disciplined as they can learn punctuality and also it makes the students active and it teaches them the routine that they need to follow so that even in future they can carry this day-to-day activity and there they will definitely bear the fruit for maintaining good attendance. This brings in a good culture for the society.

Yes. It is very much needed. Because without compulsory attendance student deliberately missed the class. Even after compulsory attendance college bunking large in nowadays. But there are certain rules to be framed for more relaxation in case of immediate excuses. If there is a rule of 85% attendance than it must be relaxed for more 5%.

Hi guys.
I think it is compulsory but not at all. Because as a student everyone should have their own rights to enjoy their life. We can enjoy our life as a student only. If it is restricted 75% attendance is compulsory, many poor students were not able to attend. Due to their family problems, they are unable to attend. But no one can reach their goals without attending to college. So don't neglect this. As an alternate 60% should enough for engineering life. Not only for engineering but also for every field. I mainly focused on engineering why because I'm an engineering student.
Have an average attendance. It's enough for our life re.

Yes, there must be compulsory attendance in the College. Bcos if it is not, they may become irregular and some of the student May choose the course and the College in their parents compulsion. If there is no compulsory attendance they May cheat the parents and bunk the class.
