I believe a better way to enforce this would be to keep criteria, like, students who have good academic performance relatively should be given the leverage from compulsory attendance. This would also motivate the students to perform well.

Hello everyone. !

According to me, Yes attendance is compulsory because if students not attend colleges daily than they become lazy. And they forget their powers to do something, this laziness results in failure.

NO! The reason behind my answer I will tell you because the students who are studying sincerely they also need to bunk some classes for their own work at the end it decreases the attendance of that person also ! And at last he/she compulsory need to attend that classes which they don't want to attend !

Hi I am Sasikumar,

In my point of view the attendance is not compulsory in colleges because everyone have their own talent which means someone talent in playing, talking, singing so they should have to spend more time for their interested area not lazy, if the attendance is a compulsory one then they are not able to spend time for his/her interested areas, but most of the students are think very proud to bunk classrooms.

I think attendance is not really needed in colleges. When a student is passing his/her major hours in the class attending lectures, it is better to utilize the time in developing the field of interest in which the student is interested in. Ya truly there should be a margin or limitations in that but it should be flexible till some boundaries.

As per my opinion,

I will not agree with compulsory attendance because it will ruin creativity of students at least 60%. I think 50 percentage of attendance is enough after that leave the students freely and make the subject clear head. Make them learn on their own and explain to them if they need. Practical learning is more important than a classroom lecture. Practical implementation is more important than by-heart. Don't force them to try to educate and help them to elevate.

According to me, yes it is really necessary but it should not be 100% it is OK with 75% and the reason behind it is that as we come to a teenage we start thinking many things and one moment in life comes that we get distracted. If your mind is focused then it is well-en good but mostly are distracted. Yah it is true If the teacher cannot create interest in the class, there is no point in attending his classes regularly but there many other teachers who explains very well.

Let me give you my own example,

We have total 8 subjects with 7 teachers and strength is around 52 std. Out of 7 teachers, 6 explains very well by giving practical examples but although teachers are explaining well enough student don't give proper attention. In our class, only 34 std study with interest and all others makes them self-busy in doing useless things and this thing is out of mind for me.

But at least by compulsory attendance, it is possible that students will gain somewhat knowledge just by hearing, writing or direct asking question by teachers which is not possible if they are not going to college.

According to my concern, attendance is a way of making students disciplined as they can learn punctuality and also it makes the students active and it teaches them the routine that they need to follow so that even in future they can carry this day-to-day activity and there they will definitely bear the fruit for maintaining good attendance. This brings in a good culture for the society.

Yes, it mandatory to have attendance because without attendance student will not come college regularly and they take their lectures not serious and even they don't get subject knowledge.

Yes, I fully support the topic. Attendance doesn't mean physical presence only. It is all about decorum and discipline. It highlights the qualities like punctuality, sincerity and devotion. It paves the way for being a law-abiding citizen. Waiving of attendance is neither in the interest of student nor for the institute.
