Is compulsory attendance really needed in college?

Hi guys!

In my opinion, there should not be any rule of compulsory attendance in college, yes up to school it's okay!

It is so because there are many more students like me whose mind can concentrate more at night. So they can also study at night time through video lectures and all. The only thing is that our mind is able to accept or understand what you are reading doesn't matter whether it's day or night. Coming to college daily and just sleeping in the class. And getting nothing is just a waste of time and nothing else.

In my opinion, attendance is not compulsory but 75% attendance is compulsory. Some students are willing to involving sports and other activities. Sometimes students have a critical situation they will take a leave. Unfortunately, this will happen.

So 100% attendance is not compulsory. Some other college is not to allow leave but many college students will be free for 25% attendance. It is not really needed one.

The student who has taken a leave strictly maintain their attendance percentage. We should maintain our attendance percentage.

I think students may not follow the class if he fails to attend the majority of his previous classes so it may lead to decrease in interest and marks.

But 100% attendance is not compulsory if a student attends to 80% of his classes it is enough.

Yes, in my opinion, attendance should be compulsory in College. As í am pursuing MBA my attendance is 100% till 3 rd semester. And Its feel good When you have complete attention towards your study. You get a habit of getting up Early in morning and get ready for College. This habit Will help in future When we Will be working in a company or MNC.

So, in my opinion, attendance is compulsory.

Yes, compulsory education is needed in college in now a days. Because without proper guidance we may not move in the right direction. Even though we are having video lectures it won't help us to get the subject deeply and an education without a proper guidance is sailing in the undirectional boat so for this purpose we need attendance compulsory.

As per my opinion if I go within positive direction of this topic attendance should be compulsory in colleges but there are two factors most of the colleges bounded the student by some rules and regulations 75% attendance is mandatory for every student but in actual condition, it is fair or not, little bit thing about this it may seem like the only foundation to the student because if the college doesn't give such environment which they actually required for the students then it is not good for any student, it seems like only time waste also not beneficial for self-study purpose. If college gives that environment which are important for study purpose then attendance should be a minority for students.

In my opinion, college attendance should not be compulsory as we all know that we are living in the digital world and students can get top-level education from youtube and other websites which actually most colleges failed to provide.

In engineering, all are learning concepts from youtube. So if you will impose attendance issues in college that will result in a lack of concept clearance in students.

I am here to include that attendance plays a vital role in professional courses like engineering life rather than schooling.

If no attendance is considered then no student will attend the classes.

Though enjoyment is must and should in everyone life but we should give equal importance to studies as well.

I think attendance is not mandatory in colleges. In the school it is good for students because discipline but in college students are mature they know what to be do & what not to be do. In some of the college forcing to student attend the class, & they not present then pay fine. Then students have no option they come college but only physically not mentally. They can mentally disturb.

Yes, it must be compulsory but only when the faculty of that institute is serious about students, now a days what is happens in most of the colleges whether it may be government or private the faculties were not doing their work properly they came only for earning money anyhow some of them were serious so if an institute want compulsory attendance that institute must have to take feedback from students about there teaching experience. In most cases, some students were studying as well as doing jobs because of their financial problem so it may be a kind of huge task from them to do both. So as my views attendance is directly proportional to teaching staff it means if staff is good attendance must be compulsory in that particular college.
