Is compulsory attendance really needed in college?

Yes, definitely if the attendance will not compulsory in colleges then the level of knowledge will degrading day by day because if the attendance is not necessary why student will go in college regularly and if they don't go then they can't able to clear semester with good marks and all these not happen they will not placed in any company and will unemployment rate will highly increase and none of the MNC will come to our college or our country to give jobs because knowledge level is zero then why they will come to waste their time and In this way our youth will be unemployed and having zero level of knowledge what will do just we do labour type work. So, attendance really needed in college.

According to my point of view, everything has good and bad sides. I think the students those who are only entertainment-oriented and don't have any interest to do anything, for them it should be compulsory. Because through this they can sit silently in the class instead of using mobile phones and at least listen to the words what the lecturer says. Rather they think whatever maybe but they can gain the ability that how to sit constantly for 45 minutes.

On the other hand, it should not be mandatory for those who have already set their goals and have a proper idea to achieve this. They don't think it necessary to come to college because sometimes we came to college and then the class is suspended that is the waste of time for those students.

Anyway attendance plays a very vital role in a students' life. It is a good sign. It makes them obedient, discipline and honest. So, it should be compulsory for every student.

In my perspective college, attendance is compulsory because I am also a student some time I feel lazy and I don't want to go to college and I waste my time at home or on mobile or with my friends but the criteria of attendance motivate us to attend the college where I have gain the knowledge.

There is a need to improve college studies.

Instead of boring lectures, there should be some interesting and if possible then practical lectures.

Because a student learns from practical more than theoretical.

And a good atmosphere should be provided to students.

According to me, attendance should not be compulsory because the time duration of any college in too long. And we are not able to do other things by our choice. Suppose if someone is the interesting sport they can not able to do practice. And regular attending college can be so boring. Because doing something by not your choice can be bored at some stage. I know if college do attendance mandatory then no one will come to attend classes. But forcing them to come is not good. If someone is really serious about their future they will definitely come and attend classes by their choice.

I think attendance is compulsory because this is the only place where student interacts with their teacher. And through this interaction, they gained knowledge not only related to their subject but also about their career. Today, the use of the internet is increasing day by day, students are not socialized, so through this they also become socialized.

From my point of view, attendance should not be needed compulsory. As, many of us need to focus on self study rather than listening to boring lectures. Although to some extent like upto 50% attendance could be done mandatory so that everyone would be comfortable enough. Daily attending the classes in college just for the sake of attendance is of no use. So, it is better to sit at home and study. In a nutshell, I would say attendance should not be made compulsory, as there is no point of that attendance until and unless we are not focused towards learning.

In my opinion, considering the fact that our country is moving towards digitalism number of options are there for the students to gain knowledge apart from what we get through lectures. In fact I would rather suggest someone to bunk class search for the topic and study what are the current research going on regarding that particular topic instead of sitting in the lecture and learning the same thing that has been taught for the last plenty of years. You can find more practical things on YouTube and Google alongwith the theoretical knowledge.
As a college student if you are possessing 100% attendance, u mug up everything that has been taught in the lecture and u topped the exam will be pointless and meaningless as long as you are not updated with current scenario.

Attendance should be compulsory as per my views but I would say it should be compulsory in some limit. Most of the college attendance compulsion is 75% but I will suggest it should not more than 60%. If a person want to do any other research or work but he cannot do because of the class attendance. If we compulsion of the attendance should decrease till 60% then student can do their own research or other work.

I understand that in College student don't feel like to go regularly as because they feel that they are mature enough to understand and guide themselves, but I still believe that if you are a regular student in college you can change many things on you. I also agree that the changes can't just come through by the student regular attendance of the student but also with the Prof. And the institution involvement with the students. Institution became very selfish these days and they are making money by the student and professor are not paying good attention on them as they feel that they are responsible of it and also as because they are not paid enough to get enthusiasm to teach student properly. If Professor are intelligent enough and give their motivation and devotion I must believe that all the student will respect them and give India a great future. It's very important to make a student learn and understand everything as it would be a great help for the students. Students are still naive in many things. They need support and guidance. Forcing student to come to College in the name of 70% percentage is not at all a good thing because if someone doesn't like to come then force can make them sit to the classrooms nothing more than that.

I believe that if a Professors are pretty enough to influence students they'll definitely follow them. I understand going to college is always a fun feeling for the Students but that doesn't mean that students are not aware about their career. If a professor is intelligent and tell them the need and necessity of education I'm sure students will definitely follow that Professor.

I wanted to say that Teacher, Professor they are the great people who can influence a child in such a way by which a child can design his path and get success in Career. Teachers are motivator and a great influencer. They have to be strong enough to understand a student perception and also help them to achieve their goal.

I also believe that college must be a place where should be many events and occasion organized where student can highly involve and recognized; by which student will not feel bore to come. As being just in classes and studying makes anyone feel annoying. So it's should be a place where every student feel to come.

I also feel that this is last phase of a student life after that they can be anything or anyone but sure not a student so it's a institution responsibility that student must be enjoying their college days and college life. Any institution should be encouraging and motivating them to involve in every event happening their which helps a student to grow their another skill and they could understand what are the other thing they are good in.

Involvement of a student in College is necessary for their growth and they should be encouraged not to be forced to come to College in the name of attendance and it can only be done by the education department and by the good professor.
