Individual brilliance definitely matters, both in individual as well as group performance. A Sachin can change the whole game while the thoughts of a mahatma ignite the whole human civilization for centuries.

A brilliant person is able to take out the best from not so brilliant person, use it for the benefit of the organisation and makes that person feel as special as any other person.

Yes of course it makes a difference because one person becomes top ranker or CEO of the company while other sacrifice or end their life by being as only a worker of the company...

In some cases, individual brilliance makes difference. But in most cases, it doesn't.For example, a Sachin can make a difference, but it should be supported by his team members.

According to me, individual intelligence is needed. Because it can take out you from any problem or danger. You won't need a group of people to give the opinion for that.
