Scores as many of them expressed is a measure of your capability to do that work in this case how well you can play. Learning is just gathering the knowledge but once you test it we get to know how much we have learnt in the same way in my point of view scores are essential and tell us our performance. So even winning isn't everything we need to have scores.

In my opinion a score is a measure of how well the person is ready to face the thing which he has learned, and recording the score makes him to think the new ways to improve the score. This way the sport improves and creates perfection in enthusiasm.

A game is compared to life a win is set as goal.
If we want to win you have to score, similarly if we want to reach our goal in life we have to plan ourselves and try to achieve it, no matter if we failed we have to be confident and should progress with every step to reach goal.
This matches with winning in game that whether we win the game or not is not important we have to make sure not to repeat mistakes and keep progressing with every attempt to score runs.
So that one or other day we can finally win.

I agree win is not important and also loses is not acceptable. After we loose we blame if I could have done. The important thing is our best has come out or not and every match our graph should increase even if it is 0.001 a improvement is improvement and this COULD word is very dangerous.

Basically, every sport is a token of enthusiasm for mankind when it comes to a point that how much enthusiastic, there needs an attribute for it which is obviously "Score". And without it, we cannot measure any sport.

According to me, winning is not important in cricket the team which gives their best performance towards the match they are tha winner. In cricket, upto last over we didn't say who are the winners that's why they keep scoring.

Winning is not important. Because in the game there are two, one is win and another one is lose. If we give our best then we get a result is Good.

My opinion about this topic is only winning will not finalize your life when you lose you will learn new thing which you have made mistakes. When we accept the failure then your will a winner one day.
We should first accept the failure, then automatically you improve yourself then it will become a winner one day.

We do not keep score for the sole purpose of deciding the winner. Scoring is used as a feedback mechanism.
In exams or sport, how do you know that a concept is wrong, a strategy is not working, a performance is not up to the mark if we are not keeping score? Scores help us to quantify our efforts, and help us achieve more and move more closely to the idea of perfection.
Of course this only applies when you are trying to enhance a skill, arts, sports etc. If your sole purpose of a activity is to have fun, like a friendly children game etc, keeping scores is unnecessary.
