Well, according to me Nonviolence and peace are weapons that are powerful enough to combat with the most dangerous forms of Power and Destruction.
Words in my opinion are an inexhaustible source of magic that can heal injuries. Words have such a powerful impact that leaves a long lasting impression. Injuries caused by war or duels that may crop up in certain nasty circumstances are guaranteed to heal with the passage of time.
However, words have the ability to strike a person's mind directly and are not easily forgotten. While in some cases instead of words we might need actions to be performed, as for example when people are tortured by terrorists and are trapped in the net of their barbarity words won't lead to a fruitful outcome. You might end up causing lots of innocent lives getting nipped in the bud. In those cases, we need stringent actions to be performed. Hence the fact that word and actions when combined together and handled in a proper way, can work wonders.

Peace and non-violence are still very relevant.. countries in the world still engage in peaceful demonstrations, boycotts name them...and it working. I think this only calls for patience and strategy.Fighting to acquire what people need currently in the very hostile environment does not mean peace and non violence would not work....i believe that it is the change of strategy to adapt to the changing environment.

Peace is now replaced by calm, and the non-violence has been replaced by inability. When you understand meaning of peace, its the ability to control our emotions and non-violence it is the fact restrains us being impulsive, Yeah they will never be outdated, as Peace does exist in self, and non-violence is directly proportional to the peace,

Poor minds or half literate men can go for non-violence..One who is literate and matured enough would opt for ethical fight(win-win).Only this can improve you and help others improve.Real joy and peace can be found only with non-violence undoubtedly...otherwise why wouldn't people be just happy and contented with what the world is now(rat race).I'm sure people who strive in rat race would definitely go for a peaceful meditation in their daily life and some how manage like being contented..Cause we cant be totally out of race..No other go we must race but in our way we search for a morning walk peace, going for pleasant outing..

I think that nonviolence is good, because there are many advantages like through this our life is good or when we do violence it can harm your health.

Peace and Non-violence can and would never be outdated so long conflict violence and persist in our society. Both concepts may sound some how staid to unenlightened minds due to the prevalent general chaos and wars all over the globe, it still does not mean that peace and non-violence are no useful tools in combating these various ills and evils in our society. What we need is a revolutionary reorientation towards the violent and war attitude prevalent in our present society.

Yes, I agree with what Shilpi said. Because in today's competitive world, we cannot retain our own rights with peace and nonviolence.

In this discussion one participant has rightly said that today's world is rate race and one always try to outplay others, its clear indication of nonviolence and peace. Because instead of fighting, they employ unethical tools, so nonvilence and peace are not outdated, what has outdated is ethics, moral and affection towards each other.

Peace and non violence can never become outdated, they are the tools through which one can put forward his righteous demands, violence increase the misery of lives. If violence is taken course in each sphere of life, the political stability of the world is bound to detoriorate.

The greed to be ahead of the surrounding people has completely overtaken peace an non-violence. In today's competitive n fast running life everyone wants to grab the things so quickly that they take either of the ways to get it whether is in peacefully or else if they wot get it they go for it violently.
