According to me the actual meaning of this phrase is, in your life, you will travel until and unless you will get success in your life, you will face so many difficulties like a ship while traveling but once you will get success no one can stop you like the ship reached the dockyard.

Yes, when we want success in life first thing is to think with no boundaries. That is think like a child and come out of your comfort zone. This means that when we are kids, we are eager to learn to stand, write, etc. Once we age, we start applying boundaries for ourselves. So, stop being in your comfort zone ready to take risks.

Here the the vast ocean is compared to the enjoying beautiful life & unless the person takes the voyage, it becomes dry. When there are difficulties only the happiness tastes the best. Restricting oneself to small periphery, not taking the challenges in life is like the stagnant water which is going smell bad i.e. such a person won't motivate the society rather degrade it. Going ahead to face troubles in life, tolerating them with patience, learning from the failures can only make the statement glorious " FAILURES ARE THE STEPPING STONES FOR THE SUCCESS".

Yes, a ship docked in harbor is not facing any storm but when it is in the sea then it must has to face storm. It can't be in the harbor for all times.

Similarly, we can't neglect the difficulties without doing anything or by staying inside the home. Our life is not bed of roses but also having thorns. And we all want to make it thornless as much as possible. For this we can't avoid thorns. We have to try to remove that. And doing nothing for the thorns is not the way. It does not prove that how strong we are. And it does not help us to reach our goal. We all are not so perfect and not able to do only the right things every times as we all are human being.

If we do anything then only we can know what is the wrong and can be able to identify the right way to achieving our aim. We get the lesson from the failures. It gives us chances to choose the right decisions and directs us in the right way. There will always difficulty in doing right and thew way becomes harder as we become nearer to the goal. And there is no trouble in doing wrong. The way for this is smooth. So, we have to do work, face the trouble with the confidence then only we can reach our goal.

In this idiom "Ship" means life and storm means unexpected events or difficulties. Many a times occur that things are not like what we planned. Our life is full of unexpected events. I f we face it, will rewarded with experienced if something like that occurs in future we can face it with ease. Doctors can do the treatment of the patients if he knows about his disease. We can go ahead if we recognized our shortcomings and remove from our life. Life is full of hurdles, we always should prepare for every storm. Perseverance always should our motive. If we have passion to reach our destination point we can face our problems. If we will not enter in the problems, how we can find the solutions. So think always positive, if we have done it, we cannot stop.
