Landmass means an area of land occupied by population.
Australia is the smallest continent because the Great Victoria Desert is present here so small area of land is occupied by people and a large area is free as dearest.

Landmass means the amount of area.
Australia is one of the seperated continent so different vareity of creature and living beings are only seen in this continent only.

I check in the net and I found out that the land mass of Europe is just 6% and Australia is 7% when we compared to all other. So I want to which one is right.

The mass of the land is directly proportional to area of the land, Australia has small area than the other continents so Australia has small "landmass".
