K2 is located in New Zealand so how is that part of the Himalayas?

K2 (Godwin Austin) is situated in Karakoram range, not in the Himalayas.

Actually, the Himalayan portion is divided into 2 types one is trans Himalayas and other is main Himalayas.

So in trans Himalayas, there is Karakoram range Ladhak range and Zanskar range. And coming to the main Himalayas there are Himachal the greater Himalayas, the Himadri the Lesser Himalayas and the outer Himalayas or Shivalik. Hence k2 belongs to the Himalayas.
