Sir, Intensity is measured on Modified Mercalli scale etc., Richter scale is for measuring Earthquake's magnitude i.e. the energy with which an eq is released. Magnitude and Intensity are comparable to the wattage of an electric bulb and the light emitted by it respectively.

Mercalli intensity scale is used for measuring the intensity of earthquake, she Richter scale is used to measure the magnitude (amplitude) of earthquake.
