If we give dc current to field winding, the magnetic field produced, but it is not changing with respect to time, so no torque is produced, and rotor will not rotate.

In ac system it is called stator. In dc machines it is named as armature.

Synchronous motor also cannot be used as a DC Machine as when DC supply is given to the winding it will not produce any rotating magnetic field and the winding would have burnt.

The static part of a machine is called a armature. In ac system it is called stator. In dc machines it is named as armature. It has some windings to produce magnetic field in dc machines.
