Because in rectifier circuit there will be a diode in which the current flows in forward bias only when we apply alternating current so it is a unidirectional current of ripples so it is used to covert ac to dc.

Because rectifier act as a open switch in reverse bias and a cliose switch in forward bias it can convert AC (current which changes it direction) into DC (current which flows only in one direction).

The main function of rectifer is to convert AC to DC. Because it conduct current only in forward bias and not in reverse bias.

Rectifiers is used to convert alternating current to direct current, any other use of rectifiers, just tell me about that, if so, tell me soon as possible. Thank you.

Rectifier converts AC to DC.

Inverter converts DC to AC.

Cyclo converters AC to AC.

Choppers converts DC to DC.
