Magnetic lines also passes through the centre of bar magnet but there direction is from south to north.

Because magnetic lines donot pass through center of the bar magnet.

At the center magnetic lines of force is negligable so at the of magnet magnetic field is zero.

Magnetism is highest at poles of a bar magnet and as we come closer to the center magnetism is reduced. Therefore it is zero at center.

The same and negative sign quantities are get cancelled.

If we cut a bar magnet axially, what is pole strength and magnetic moment?

Koushik said:   1 decade ago
Bar magnet is a magnet having two poles north and south at the end of magnet producing constant or uniform magnetic field since the magnetic lines of forces are more at the poles produced by them so magnetic field at the centre of magnet is zero.
