Members of Lok Sabha holds a period of 5 years.

Members of Lok Sabha hold an office for 5 years in normal tenure but in case of national emergency President can extend their tenure for 1 more year. i.e. total 6 years.

Amendment 42th is lok sabha 6 year but 44th amendment to 5 year.

The memebers of Lok Sabha are elected directly by all eligible voters and sits for 5 years unless dissolved earlier.
