The "Axis" powers were a military and political alliance between Germany, Italy and Japan. Its goals were to achieve vast expansion through aggressive warfare. They promised to fight against Communism and never interfere with each other's foreign takeovers. They fought against the Allied powers (chiefly the US, France, Britain, and the Soviet Union) in World War 2.

Major Axis Powers: Germany, Japan, Italy.

Minor Axis Powers: Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Slovakia (joined or left the alliance separately).

The three main Axis powers were:.

Germany: Fuhrer (Leader) Adolf Hitler.

Italy: Duce (Leader) Mussolini.

Japan: Prime Minister Tojo Hideki.

The two main powers originally referred to as the Rome-Berlin Axis were Germany and Italy. They were joined by Japan in the Tripartite Pact signed on September 27, 1940 in Berlin. A number of other nations joined this alliance under various other pacts and all were thereafter generally referred to as Axis Nations. These included Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Croatia.

Axis Powers were an alliance formed by Germany under Adolf Hitler, Italy under Benito Musolini and Japan under Hideki Tojo as a result of the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Entante.

Rashbehari Bose had organised the Indian Indipendence League by the Indians settledin South East Asia. Initially, INA was formed uneder the command of Capten Mohan Singh, however, Subhas Chandra Bose became it's Supreme Commander and along with Japan declared war against Britain and USA during the second world war but were defeated.

World war II played a very important role in Indian freedom struggle and politics during mid 20th century (i.e 1940-50).

Britain was an allied power while japan was with axis powers, subash chandra bose who wanted to take this as an advantage traveled to Germany 1st and then to japan, freed all the POW's there and started Azad Hind Fauj (INA) in Singapore with the help of japan to fight against a common enemy (i.e Britishers). Before he reached japan the initial steps of organizing INA was taken up by General Mohan singh. Rash Behari bose was a close associate of Subash C Bose who assisted the latter in organizing INA.

Though many of historians argue that the step taken by Bose on supporting fascist powers was a very wrong one, it created a sense of courage and spread of wider nationalist feelings in India. It also spread the nationalist feeling to Britain controlled army of Indians which was one of the main weapon used by Britishers in suppressing the revolts.
