Sweetness in sugar cane depends upon the climate. Since south India belongs to tropical humid climate sugar content is higher as compared to north India. Sugar bowl of World is Cuba. See the location. Plus sugarcane of south India is more juicy than north, hence it takes longer crushing period.

I have a conclusion to all above comments of the discussion group.

Good soil condition, perfect climate condition & the proper timing to harvest is the main causes for growing more sugar cane than north.
