As per plate tectonics theory whole world is floating over 11 plates. Hence the plates are constructed with sial and sima the upper late of core. There were a tethys sea at the place of the himalayas in the carboniferous period. When tethys sea accumulated with eroded material then a force started to shift Indian plate towards the eurasian plate which is in northern direction. The accumulated mud of tethys sea taken a shape of Himalayas due to gradual upliftment.

When the Indian and eurasian plates are converged, then Indian plates are Subducted, and eurasia plate are abducted because eurasia plate are very literally than Indian plate.
