The ratio of width of the flag to its length is 2 to 3. In the centre of the white band of the Indian National Flag, there is a navy blue wheel which represents the chakra. Its design is that of the wheel which appears on the abacus of the Sarnath Lion Capital of Ashoka. Its diameter comes close to the width of the white band & it has twenty four spokes. The design of the National Flag of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on 22 July 1947.

There are three colors in India flag. All the color is equal horizontal bars. The deep saffron colors shows courage and sacrifice. The saffron color is also called the Bhagwa color, this is a symbol of Hinduism. The white color symbolism for peace, Purity and truth. The green color shows the culture and fertility. The blue colors for the sky and the ocean this is in Chakra. The Chakra has 24 spokes, representing the 24 hours in a day. The height of this flag is two-thirds the width.

Correct answer is 3:2.

I think green is on 7th rank, orange is on 15th rank, white is on 23 rank. If we deduct 15-7 =8 and 23-15 =8 so if we multiply 2*2*2=8 then the there are 3 times 2 and no is 2 so 3:2.

Green colour in our Flag so that Farmers are heart of India. White colour shows that India can forgive it's enemy and Saffron shows that single Indian can control the world.

Three colors represent the three things. Saffron shows the sacrifices, green shows agriculture(indian farmers) and white shows peace.

Because Indian colour of flag in three colors 3 and India and Pakistan was same country 2. That's why Our country flag ratio 2:3.

D answer here is wrong. It is 3:2. It is mentioned clearly at the largest national flag near connaught place circle in Delhi.
