What are isotopes?

Balakrishna said:   1 decade ago
Isotopes are the substance made up of same element with different mass number so that their chemical properties are same and they are differ in physical properties so as they can be separated by distillation method which has the principle of difference in Boiling points better to use Fractional distillation.

I agree, but why not by other?

Arun said:   1 decade ago
Yes, l agree, because physical properties of the isotopes are different.

By crystallization which one will seperates.

Applicable for few isotopes that can be evaporated. Other method is mass spectroscopy.

Yes I agree with with it because isotopes have diff. Physical properties and we know that the principal of distillation is diff. In BP.

Sudesh jangid said:   1 decade ago
It is true isotopes are separated by distillation. Because physical properties different.

Yes I agree with this matter that isotopes can be separated by distillation.
