Isotopes are the substance made up of same element with different mass number so that their chemical properties are same and they are differ in physical properties so as they can be separated by distillation method which has the principle of difference in Boiling points better to use Fractional distillation.

Isotopes are made up of same atomic no. but different mass no. Since they posses different physical properties they can be easily separated by distillation process.

What is distillation, sublimation and crystallization process?

Vaishnavi said: (Jul 27, 2013)
Ya I also agree that they can be separated by distillation.

L Drago said: (Aug 25, 2013)
Yes I agree with this matter that isotopes can be separated by distillation.

Sudesh Jangid said: (Sep 17, 2013)
It is true isotopes are separated by distillation. Because physical properties different.

Karan Gupta said: (Jan 3, 2014)
Yes I agree with with it because isotopes have diff. Physical properties and we know that the principal of distillation is diff. In BP.

Nanu said: (Jun 15, 2014)
Applicable for few isotopes that can be evaporated. Other method is mass spectroscopy.

S Darshan said: (Aug 15, 2014)
By crystallization which one will seperates.

Arun said: (Sep 19, 2014)
Yes, l agree, because physical properties of the isotopes are different.

Chetan said: (Oct 4, 2014)
I agree, but why not by other?

Muthyam Kalpana Reddy said: (Dec 19, 2014)
I also agree with this because physical properties are different of isotopes.

Prasanna Kumar said: (Apr 25, 2015)
What are isotopes?

Saleh said: (Apr 27, 2015)
Isotopes can be only separated by distillation process only.

Machhindra Mhatre said: (Jan 25, 2016)
Cascade system is used to separate uranium isotopes like u235 and u238. Cascade system is filtration method.

Vinod Kumar Chaurasiya said: (Apr 12, 2016)
No, it is impossible by distillation.

Rahul Gupta said: (Aug 9, 2016)
What are the use of another process other than distillation?

Aman said: (Sep 10, 2016)
It is due to their different physical properties.

Ammy said: (Oct 28, 2017)
What is isomer?

Daniel said: (Apr 17, 2018)
It is due to their physical properties.

Prateek Mishra said: (Aug 3, 2019)
Yes, a pencil made by the graphite.

A isotrop is a same atomic no but different molecular weight. A distillation process work on principal of boiling point but the mixture have a near about same boiling point can also use a azeotrope distillation.
