Is this carbon dating?

Radiocarbon dating (sometimes simply known as carbon dating) is a radiometric dating method that uses the naturally occurring radioisotope carbon-14 (14C) to estimate the age of carbonaceous materials up to about 58,000 to 62,000 years.

CARBAN DATING ACTUALLY CAN'T BE USED TO CALCULATE THE AGE OF OLD FOSSILS.

Pavanmiriyala said:   1 decade ago
This is absolutely wrong.

The reason is C14_method is the least half life period.

Shweta said:   1 decade ago
This is wrong. C14 meathos is used for the recent rocks of geological scale.

The method which is used for calculating oldest fossils is Uranium lead method. Not carbon-14 dating because it has a limitation of calculating only up to 58000 years old fossils.

The method most suitable for calculating oldest geological formations are U-Pb and Rb-Sr method not C14 as it is used for dating the recent events because of its small half life.
