It is a carbonated water type used in pepsi, coke etc.

Soda water = carbonic acid (H2CO3).

Then it should not be in choice it is to confuse the student.

Animesh said: (Sep 8, 2011)
Soda water contains both carbon di-oxide and carbonic acid.

Madhavi said: (Apr 13, 2012)
Because it is carbonated type.

B.Munilakshmi said: (Jun 1, 2012)
Soda water is a corbonated water (co2).

Mithra said: (Oct 24, 2012)
Co2+ H2o=H2CO3.
So it is carbonic acid.

Ashrocks said: (Feb 15, 2013)
Carbon dioxide after dissolving in water becomes carbonic acid. Hence, CO2 is present as H2CO3.

Mamata said: (Mar 28, 2013)
Due to presence of CO2 in soda water bubbles arises from it.

Nikita Gupta said: (Jul 5, 2014)
Carbonic acid is not stable due to hydrogen bonding so readily converted to CO2 + H2O.

Soumit Das said: (Sep 20, 2014)
CO2+H2O = H2CO3(balanced equation).

Ankita Singh said: (Nov 21, 2014)
It must be carbonic acid, as CO2 dissolved in water get turned to carbonic acid.

Sitakant said: (Jan 10, 2015)
It must be carbonic acid: Co2+ H2o=H2CO3. So it is carbonic acid.

Gulafsha said: (Mar 6, 2015)
Yeah as all are saying it must be carbonic acid: Co2+ H2o = H2CO3. So it is carbonic acid.

Shashank said: (Sep 18, 2015)
Carbonic acid is a right answer.

Sonali said: (Oct 1, 2015)
So we can drink every one carbon dioxide.

Kavya said: (Aug 14, 2016)
It is a type of carbonated beverages-carbonated beverages contain carbon dioxide. We see while drinking soda our tongue gets something different because of carbon dioxide mixed in it.

Bhupesh said: (Sep 9, 2016)
Carbonic acid breaks as water and carbon dioxide, so carbon di oxide is right answer.

Dasari Aishwarya said: (May 27, 2017)
Soda water contains carbon dioxide some people mix soda water into alcohol.

Durgaprasad Mandal said: (Sep 15, 2017)
Soda water contains carbon dioxide. That's why it is also known as carbonate water.

Priyanka said: (Sep 18, 2017)
Since carbondioxide gets mix in water so it is called soda water.

Raju Pramanick said: (Feb 8, 2018)
It should be carbonic acid.

Deepankarmahanta said: (May 24, 2018)

Carbon dioxide won't be found in Soda water in the free state, what most candidates from non-science background see is the Carbonated part and not the actual chemistry, even then it is known as CARBON 'ated' and not carbon dioxide drink

Carbon dioxide dissolves with water under high pressure to form H2CO3 -carbonic acid, and when pressure is removed dissolved CO2 escapes in the form of effervescence
H2O(l) + CO2(g) -> H2CO3(aq).

It also imparts the tingly fizz attribute of soda water or else can anybody get that tingly feeling tasting Co2 and H2O separately.

The gasogene (or gazogene, or seltzogene) is a late Victorian device for producing carbonated water. It consists of two linked glass globes: the lower contained water or other drink to be made sparkling, the upper a mixture of tartaric acid and sodium bicarbonate that reacts to produce carbon dioxide.

Madhu said: (Jul 8, 2018)
Please explain the correct answer.

Gagan Tiwari Ji said: (Oct 29, 2018)
Carbonated water or Soda water is water that has been infused with Carbon dioxide gas under pressure. This produces a bubbly drink that's also known as sparkling water, club soda, soda water, seltzer water and fizzy water. With the exception of seltzer water, they usually have salt added to improve the taste.
