Actually zinc is a good reducing agent and not corrosion resistant. It will take the corrosion of iron as it get corroded fastly then iron.

Zinc is too much electronegative that of iron so we use it in Galvanization. It is corrosion resistant and do not get reaction with iron in any presence.
