Filling a bulb with an inert gas such as argon or nitrogen retards the evaporation of the tungsten filament compared to operating it in a vacuum.

Modern bulbs are usually filled with a mixture of argon and nitrogen. More rarely, some bulbs are filled with pure argon, krypton or xenon.

Mostly Argon.

Yes, Argon is used in electrical light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, phototubes, and glow tubes at a pressure of about 3 mm.

It is an inert gas which do not react with hot filament of the bulb made up of tungsten & temperature is over 1500c.

As we have no choice for argon so most appropriate answer will be nitrogen whereas gas generally used in bulb is argon.

In automobile lamp H4 or HS bulb is used. Which I think is filled with helium gas. Anyone can explain more about it.

Actually most of the electrical bulbs filled with neon atomic number 10. But I don't see nitrogen filled bulbs. Why?

Bulbs are generally filled with nitrogen for commercial purpose, argon may also be used but it may be costlier.

We can use any of inert gases, but we use nitrogen cause this is least reactive & cheaper than other gases.

Electric bulb is the only used to [helium, argon, neon] because the nitrogen is giving by a [nitrous oxide].
