What about NEON?

Why only nitrogen gas?

Mostly we use argon I think.

Mostly Argon.

Yes, Argon is used in electrical light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, phototubes, and glow tubes at a pressure of about 3 mm.

Nitrogen gas is more stable and it is an inert gas that's why it cannot react with a filament of the bulb. But if a bulb uses so long time. Nitrogen gets emission gradually. That's why the electric bulb will deemed.

Hey @Ishmael. Mostly neon is used in an electric bulb. But here it is not on option. So don't confuse.

Filling a bulb with an inert gas such as argon or nitrogen slows down the evaporation of the tungsten filament compared to operating it in a vacuum.
