The molecular formula of water is H2O. Because the valency of hydrogen is 2 and valency of oxygen is two and if we do it accordin to the science method then we get a molecular formula of water. In short we can tell two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen can give us one molecule of water.

Because water is a compound of O2 and H2 and O2 is having 2 valency and hydrogen is having 1 valency.
