Historically, many coinage metals (or alloys) are from the three nonradioactive member belonging to the group 11 mentioned in the periodic table:.
Copper, silver and gold.
Although many more are there.
I think Zinc is not used because its more of a stable kind and does not gel up with others.

Coinage metal means metals used to make coins like copper is mixed with both gold and silver to make jewellary and coins but zinc is not used for this purpose may be because it is a stable element and don't mix with other three as zn cd and hg are stable non reactive elements in most cases.

The coinage metals comprise, at a minimum, those metallic chemical elements which have historically been used as components in alloys used to mint coins.

Coinage metals are those which have been historically used to make coins. Nowadays, zinc is also used to make coins but it is not included included in coinage metals.

Coinage metals are used to make coin and it has quality of plasticity. Due to plasticity any impression or symbol may be tapped on this metal permanently.

Coinage metals are cooper, silver but not zinc because it is a stable element.
