Well, on my own opinion, Carbon is the right answer. Not that it is an element but it is the major component of Carbon which is an element.

On my own opinion, diamond is the right answer even though it is a mineral.

Diamond is a pure carbon.

But as we know that diamond is not available in periodic table please tell on which base we can say it element.

It is allotropic form of carbon and not element.

It is both a mineral & element.

Actually a diamond is an object not an element. The element is carbon and the carbon molecules combine under extreme conditions to form a diamond. This example is no different than an iceberg.

An iceberg is comprised of water molecules that combine under extreme conditions to form an ice pack which can then break into icebergs. But an iceberg is not water, an iceberg is comprised of water molecules. In this way a diamond is comprised of carbon. The element is carbon and the diamond is an object formed of that element.

Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire are gemstones.

Why other ones are not an element?
