During winter water freezes.
When water freezes it expands, i.e, the volume of ice is greater than that of water. So, the water inside the cell expands and as a result the cell membrane gets broken.

Option B is correct because no photosynthesis takes place at such low temperature.

Low temp. Cause damage either directly by freezing cellular water or indirectly by freezing soil water, making it enable to uptake water. Mechanical damage occur due to weight of frozen water i.e. snow. So A is the correct answer. To know more read ABIOTIC WINTER DAMAGE.

Generally at low temperature enzymatic activity ceases, so enzyme related with respiration will not be able catabolise the respiration reaction. Therefore respiration get ceases and plat get killed. C. Is correct option.
