Melanin helps us to protect from harmful rays. You will see people around equator are dark as rays are more there but in areas around poles have light sunlight and skin tone is light because of melanin.

More the amount of melanin in our body, More than and darker look and it is more interesting to know that the secretion of this pigment increases with our exposure to sunlight. That is why we usually change to a shade darker after dealing with sunlight.

Albino means pure white. They have no melanin pigment for their skin. And it is controlled by 3 pairs of recessive genes (polygene).
