I think answer wold be "B", because the vector filariasis is Loa loa.

|Vectors of Lymphatic Filariasis
A wide range of mosquitoes can transmit the parasite, depending on the geographic area. In Africa, the most common vector is Anopheles and in the Americas, it is Culex quinquefasciatus. Aedes and Mansonia can transmit the infection in the Pacific and in Asia.

|Anopheles also can serve as the vectors for canine heartworm Dirofilaria immitis, the filariasis-causing species Wuchereria bancrofti and Brugia malayi, and viruses such as one that causes O'nyong'nyong fever.
Filariasis is also trasmitted by culex mosquitoes.

What is this disease "filariasis" give full description please?
Mohit said: (Aug 22, 2013)
|Filariasis (philariasis) is a parasitic disease (usually an infectious tropical disease) that is caused by thread-like nematodes (roundworms) belonging to the superfamily Filarioidea, also known as "filariae". These are transmitted from host to host by blood-feeding arthropods, mainly black flies and mosquitoes.
Eight known filarial nematodes use humans as their definitive hosts.

Once the anopheles mosquito bite in the night time it blocks the lymph vessels and results of enlargement of legs. This is called filariasis. Female culex is also a vector.

But female anopheles mosquito is for spreading malaria in 12th NCERT.

What is filariasis?
Xyz said: (May 26, 2015)
Filariasis is not spread by anopheles mosquito.
Prabha said: (Jun 20, 2015)
Filariasis is not spread by anopheles it is spread by clues.
Ankitha said: (Jul 10, 2015)
Filariasis is spread by mainly three mosquito genus namely Aedes, Culex and Anopheles especially in rural areas.
Kwesi Obbo said: (Aug 25, 2015)
Filariasis is a parasitic disease caused by an infection with roundworms of the Filarioidea type. These are spread by black flies and mosquitoes, precisely the Anopheles mosquito which is a vector.
Jannat said: (Nov 16, 2015)
Filariasis means swelling of lymph vessels this disease is termed as Elephantiasis. It is not a vector for malaria. Elephantiasis is caused due to female culex mosquito.
Faisal Reshi said: (Mar 26, 2016)
I think it is the wrong answer, as I have read that filariasis or elephantiasis is caused by wuchereria (worm)
Himanshu said: (Jul 26, 2016)
It's wrong because filariasis is caused by Wuchereria, not by anopheles.
Seenu said: (Dec 7, 2016)
Anopheles Mosquitoes cause Malaria, not Filariasis. I think the answer is wrong.
Ketan Sardesai said: (Dec 14, 2016)
|@Himanshu & @Faisal.
There is a difference between vector and causative organism.
Vector TRANSPORTS the causative organism, while the cause I've organism actually CAUSES the disease to occur.
For example, if you were bitten by a female anopheles mosquito that is NOT carrying plasmodium, you WILL NOT get malaria. (Although it's highly unlikely).
Jeevan B R said: (Dec 24, 2016)
I think the right answer is option D.
