Mumps : a common virus infection mainly affecting school age children. Symptoms appear 2-3 weeks after exposure;fever, headache/and vomiting may precede a typical swelling of the parotid gland salivary glands. Vaccination against mumps provides effective immunity. (Medical Name of Mumps is : Infectious Parotitis).

Mumps, also known as epidemic parotitis, is a viral disease caused by the mumps virus. Initial signs and symptoms often include fever, muscle pain, headache, and feeling tired. This is then usually followed by painful swelling of one or both parotid salivary glands.
