There is a capacity of about 1, 95,000 MW of non-conventional energy in India.
31 % of it is in the form of solar energy, 30% in ocean and geothermal, 26 % in biomass, and 10 % in wind energy. India is a tropical country. It has enormous possibilities for tapping solar energy.
