First of all who had thought to be the two sets of stumps would be at a distance of 22 yards?

Can anyone know it?

22 yards means the distance between stump to stump (bowling side stump to batting side stump).

Seats means two pair of stumps and distance between two stumps is 22 yards.

Yard is a unit for distance measurement where 1 yard = 3 feet
