Hockey is the national game of India. India won consecutive six gold medals at the Olympics.
1928-1956 due to the major success of Indian hockey players, then it was considered as the national game of India. After that Indian hockey team won two more gold medals. There are eight gold medals won by India in 1928, 1932, 1936, 1948, 1952,

The final match was played between India and pakistan on 30 may 1958 at national stadium, tokyo. Both team are not able to score goal (0-0). As per points pak got gold, ind silver and south korea bronze.
