Eritrea declared its independence and gained international recognition in 1993,sepreted from mother country ethopia. after colonial rule in african continent was over eritrea was first country which librated itself from a african county as a seprate nation in 1993 , and now "SOUTH SUDAN" will be next in row.

Capital: Asmara. There is no official religion or language. The varied population is about half Tigrinya-speaking (see Tigray) Christians, with a large minority of Muslims and diverse other peoples. Arabic, English, and Italian are also spoken. Currency: nakfa. The land varies from temperate central highlands to coastal desert plain, with savanna in the western lowlands. It is bordered by Sudan in the west, Ethiopian the south, and Djibouti in the southeast. The east and northeast of the country have an extensive coastline on the Red sea.
