1- Germination of seeds give rise to the root, the root is called radical.
2- Tap root develops from this radical.
3- Tap root is largest, central, thick root.
4- Tap root grows downward vertically.

Ok @Sanjay bro.

Taproot is the largest, most central, and most dominant root from which other roots sprout laterally. Typically a taproot is somewhat straight and very thick, is tapering in shape, and grows directly downward.

We can easily find if it is tap root or fibrous root by checking its leaf if it is tap root then it has reticulate venation and if it is fibrous root then it has parallel venation. Thank you for reading this fact.

Maize is a monocot and hence fibrous roots and not tap roots.
