Ammonia is a cheaper refrigerant than other CFCs, it is environment friendly as it does not cause any ozone layer depletion or global warming and the cost of construction of ammonia refrigerating system is cheaper than others.

For domestic refrigerator vapour compression refrigeration is used. Ammonia is used in vapor absorption refrigeration system. Refrigerants used for vapor compression system are Freon, are 12 and are series etc. Ammonia is strict no.

Amonia is toxic in nature. How can this be used in domestic refrigerator?

Freon group of refrigerants is used in a domestic refrigerator. They are non-toxic and non-inflammable.

The correct answer is ✅ None of the above

Explanation:

Domestic refrigerators do not use alcohol, ammonia, or neon as refrigerants.
Earlier, CFCs (like Freon-12, R-12) were commonly used.
Due to ozone depletion concerns, they were replaced by HCFCs (R-22), and later by HFCs (R-134a) and eco-friendly refrigerants like isobutane (R-600a).
Ammonia (NH₃) is used in large industrial refrigeration plants, not in home refrigerators.
Alcohol & neon are not used as refrigerants.

So, in the given options, the best choice is None of the above.
