Ronald Ross was born in Almora, India. He is the first man who was born in India to receive the Nobel prize. He got the Nobel prize for Physiology in the year 1902 for his work on the disease malaria. He discovered that malaria is spread by the Anopheles mosquito which has served as the basis for combating the disease.
