BHATANGAR AWARD : for Science and Technology (SSB) is a science award in India given annually by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for notable and outstanding research, applied or fundamental, in biology, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, mathematics, medicine and Physics.
DADABHAI NAOROJI : In memory of Naoroji, an award will now be given in his name to the local Party that has done most to promote BME participants to elected office as Councillors, Assembly Members, Members of Parliament or Members of European Parliament.
This Party award is designed to encourage local parties to work towards the goal of increasing their ethnic diversity to more accurately reflect the areas they represent, and to recognize those that already make a great effort to involve different communities in their work.
BORLAUG AWARD : is an award recognition conferred by a fertilizer company, Coromandel International, for outstanding Indian scientists for their research and contributions in the field of agriculture and environment. The award was created in 1972 and named in honor of Nobel Laureate Norman E. Borlaug. It carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a gold medal, and a citation.
ARJUNA AWARD : The Arjuna Awards were instituted in 1961 by the government of India to recognize outstanding achievement in National sports. The award carries a cash prize of INR 500,000, a bronze statuette of Arjuna and a scroll.
From the year 2001, the award is given only in disciplines falling under the following categories:
1. Olympic Games / Asian Games / Commonwealth Games / World Cup World Championship Disciplines and Cricket.
2. Indigenous Games.
3. Sports for the Physically Challenged.
In mid-August 2011, 19 athletes were announced as Arjuna recipients; the high number due to the inclusion of both the 2010 Commonwealth Games and 2010 Asian Games in the Arjuna qualifying year.
