Velocity of A -> Va.
Velocity of B -> Vb.
From problem analysis: Va = -Vb.
For block A;
( 2T - 2lb * g ) × time = 2lb * (Va - 0) --> X.
For block B;
( 2T - 4lb * g) × time = 4lb * (Vb - 0).
equals-> ( 2T - 4lb * g) × time = 4lb × (-Va) --> Y.
Y-X.
Equals:
(-2lb * g) × time = -6 lb × Va.
At time = 2 seconds;
(-2lb * g ) × 2 = -6 lb × Va.
Therefore Va= 21.45 ft/s.
