Actually voltage is also be called as potential difference. This P.D. , is determine in between the two terminals of a component only. Because voltage drop has same quantity in the parallel connection.

Voltmeter should placed in parallel with a circuit element because the internal resistance of voltmeter is very high. If it is connected in series it prevents the flow of current since it increases the total resistance of the circuit.

voltage remain same in the circuit so to measure voltage ,we will have to connect the voltmeter in parallel.

By the definition of voltage we know that it is the potential difference between two points so we connect voltmeter parallel.
i.e., we connect one probe at one point and second probe at other point.
i.e., we connect one probe at one point and second probe at other point.

A Voltmeter is used to measure voltage. While measuring voltage in a circuit voltmeter should connected parallel with the circuit.

Voltage is measured with respect to ground, so the one end will be at the measuring point and another will at ground so overall we can say it across the circuit. So it is parallel.

Voltmeter must be connected in series because it is high resistance.

Voltmeter is connected in series with the device we are measuring voltage for and ammeter is connected parallel to that.

Voltmeter measures potential differenge between two terminal of the circuit. So it should be connect across two terminal. Hence it should be parallel with circuit.

Voltmeter always connect in parallel & ammeter connect in series.
