I said that it only measures voltage, because actually that is the only thing which CAN be measured by a digital multimeter.

When you select "OHMS" on a multimeter, voltage is measured by passing a constant current source through the resistor and measuring the VOLTAGE across the resistor. A microprocessor then calculates resistance using ohm's law, R=V/I.

When you select "CURRENT" on a multimeter, voltage is measured across a shunt resistor in series with the load, and then the microprocessor calculates current using ohm's law, I=V/R.

Hence one can argue that a multimeter only measures voltage, but rather calculates resistance and current also.

Multimeter it can measure more than one parameter at a time based on the selection and probe connection.

1. Ohm.
2. Continuity (Buzzer sound when it is closed).
3. Diode check.
4. Current (milli amps to AMPs) AC and DC.
5. Voltage (milli volt to volt) AC and DC.

A multimeter is a device which is used to measure voltage, current, electrical conductivity, resistance. Hence because of its wide use it is called a multimeter.

Multimeter measures voltage, current, resistors and now a days multimeter for testing components before inserting in circuits.

It measures multi things i.e. current, resistance and , voltage
and also it can be used to check continutiy of probes etc..

Multimeteris a electronic devices. Multimeter measured current, voltage, resistance, transistor resistance.

It's name specifies that it consist of Multiple meters like ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter etc.

The multimeter measurs multi-things such as voltage, current, rasistance and aslo beta value.

Multimeter: Measures voltage, current, resistance and checks the continuity of problems!

We are able to measure Voltage, Current, Resistance with help of this (Multimeter).
