Consider the color series in the resistor from opposite of the tolerance color like gold, silver.

In color series value of red is 2 and value of brown is 1. In resistor take a first two values must be same and the third value, we should be taken as power of 10. In question the 5% is denoted so it is gold.

So, by option A) 2*2*10^1=220. unit of the resistance is ohm. therefore 220 ohm 5%. implies that option [A] is the correct.

Where ABCD are color bands on resistor.

D is the tolerance.

And for determining the colour coding of a resistor you need to remember the formula :

That is :-

ab*10^c+-tolerance.

Some important points to remember :

> Each resistor has a tolerance ring. Generally they have golden or silver ring for this purpose.

> Sometimes other colours are also used for tolerance.

> The value of a carbon resistor may be obtained by looking at the coloured rings painted on it. Each colour has a numerical value.

> Hold the resistor such that the tolerance ring is on your extreme right. Now take the values of the resistor.
